Come Near with your Brokenness

Come near with your brokenness; come near with your sorrow

Lift up your heavy heart to the hands I hold out to you

Your brokenness draws you apart; your brokenness breaks my heart

Your eyes show emptiness, you see no tomorrow, you see only sorrow.

But I have a path for you; my light will guide you

In your darkness my light will bring you to a new place

Only I can give you your heart’s desire; only I can give you hope.

The sands of time run long and fast but I can give you what has long gone past

Look beyond what you can see, come close and abide in me

Look to the path that holds the key to unlock the door that leads to me.

We heard the bombs all around

Come on Son

Come on son, over we go, don’t be afraid of the foe.

I don’t want to go; I don’t want to show the fear that lives in me.

Don’t worry son, we all feel fear and many a time we’ve shed a tear.

Why does it have to be this way, killing each other every day?

It’s life on earth son, its gone astray.

I’m over the top, I’m on my way the bullets keep coming and I’ve lost my way.

All I can see is the colour gray, The smokes so think it makes me sick, but somehow I’ve found my way

I’m fighting through another day.

The ground is red with the blood of men.

My buddies lie beneath my feet

Gone forever in the long dark sleep.

I’m broken hearted and feel alone.

I miss me mam, I miss me dad, me life is flying through me head.

I just wanna be in me bed and shut me eyes so it will go away and when I awake it’s another day.

Me mate that’s with me keeps urging me on, come on son, you need to run.

It all went quiet when I fired me gun, I looked around and saw this bloke the bullet I fired had hit his throat.

I held his hand till he was gone, gone like a long lost song, never to be heard again.

Oh God what have I done he was just a lad like me?

It’s like hell on earth this war we’re in.

Then it all went quiet it all went still, the grey was gone and the sky was blue, the sound of laughter reached my ears, I heard this noise say “No more tears” and I looked I saw this bloke.

This bloke I shot in the throat, not only him but hundreds more, just like the sand on the sea shore, they look so happy, so content and there he was my mate again, his face was radiant like the morning sun.

The smell of roses filled the air; the Rose of Sharon was truly there.

I’m home at last and peace abounds.

We never see the wars again; never hear the sound of dying men trampled on the ground.

How did we miss your face?

Oh God how did we get to this place. How did we miss your face? It was all an illusion just a dream, it makes my soul want to scream. The sound of death is all around I feel as if I’m going to drown.

In this hell hole of despair is there anyone who cares. The sand of time is running out. The sound of hope is fading fast.

I took the drug called crack cocaine and ended upon another plane.

But soon reality hit again and on I go with the same old game, round and round like a carrousel taking me deeper into hell. Then in my sorrow, in my pain I heard your voice call my name.

I saw your face full of pain the tears I shed were down your face.

Your arms embraced me and my pain was gone. Each tear that fell from your face embraced my heart with amazing grace.

Lord of the dance

As we danced joy filled my heart. Every beat of the music was a beat of my heart.

As your arms held me your love engulfed me.

You lifted me high, so high I could almost touch the sky.

Your eyes led me in the way I should go.

The dance led me to a place I have never been before, a place of love so profound, so deep, I felt I would drown, but your arms held me close.

You lead me in the dance.

Who is this that I am dancing with?

Who is stirring my heart? Who is this? Who is this that makes me want to dance?

And as I turned I saw your face.

Who are you that shows so much love that draws me so close that makes my heart leap with joy?

Who are you?

My child I am the Lord of the dance.

Dying for a hug

Dying for a hug, begging for your love, longing for the empty space to be filled, to see the love upon your face, you take my hand and lead me on.

What can compare with love?

Nothing on earth can compare with the joy of love. The lack of love is like a body robbed of water, robbed of food, of meaning, of purpose.

The very essence of life is love.

Love is kind, love is gentle, and love is glue that holds us all together, it binds us together with a golden cord.

Broken love is a sword to the soul, brokenness deep inside.

No one can see it, it’s like the roaring sea, it pulls you down to the pit of despair.

The light of love has grown so dim,

If only we would look to him, the light of God is never dim; it draws you close to be with him. His arms are always there for you. The door of life is within your heart, open up let love in.

He stands at the door, the door of your heart, just call his name, and invite him in, Then everything within you will start to sing.

Whose party is this?

The Lord says:

Whose party is this?

Whose joy do they have?

What’s it all about?

They don’t know me! They don’t know me!

I’m looking through the window- I’m looking at you.

Who’s party is this?

Can you not see my face? Can you not see my tears?

And I reply:

My heart is broken!

I saw your face in the window.

I saw your tears down your face.

The holes in your hands and feet.

Then I turned and said to the people around “Who’s party is this?

You made me laugh

You made me laugh, you made us cry, you made us dance on a lullaby.

We flew to the land that has no end, the land where we could all pretend: To be the things we want to be, to fly to the rainbow that has no end, where children jump over the moon, where the little dog laughs and the dish ran away with the spoon.

Where are you my Peter Pan? I’m looking for you as hard as I can.

We want to fly again with you we want to see your face, But know now you’re gone to the land that has no end.

No more tears, no more pain, no more thinking I’ve gone insane.

Fly Peter Robin on the wings of a butterfly Good bye dear Robin, good bye my Peter Pan, Peter Pan doesn’t live here anymore.

No future

Hold my hand my little one; come with me to make believe. In your dreams we fly away. Give your heart to me to mend, shut your eyes and just pretend the dreams you have will never end.

We’ll fly to the rainbow that has no end; we’ll spin the stars in the sky and fly on the wings of a butterfly. We’ll go to the heavens and over the moon we’ll catch the dish that stole the spoon and the little dog laughed to see such fun.

Where to now my little one. Shall we go and see peter pan, shut your eyes and just pretend I take you to a place that has no end. Where fairies fly in a bright blue sky, where pirates sail on a lullaby. Where children come to never die. They dance to the music of the lullaby.

You were to me like the morning ray

I saw you when you were young and gay. You were to me like the morning ray. My heart was lost in your unfolding beauty you were my only desire like the taste of honey sweetness to my lips then came the storm to rip us apart we came to you with a broken heart.

Where have you gone my love. Don’t let your heart be taken away.

You think you have the answer. You think you have the dream. When the blinds fall from your eyes you see it for what it is. An illusion a dream, then back to the same place again. Does the rainbow have the gold? You look for, you search but you never find it. Just the colours that draw you in that take you deeper into sin. The merry go round of life goes on. We try to sing a different song only to sound like a resounding gong.

The eyes are the lamp of the soul

The eyes are the lamp of the soul, the lips that smile and the heart that sings are like honey to the lips of kings. The king of kings came down to stay, to help you through another day. His eyes are like the Golden Fleece, his lips drip love to give you peace, and a heart that melts when he sees your face.

He covers you with his amazing grace. To see his love for you, the grace to come on the race of life can go so wrong. Our eyes are blind to many things but look in the eyes of the kings of kings, his light will guide you on the rocky path. When you fall and you surly will, his arms can lift whatever weight. He’ll guide you through the narrow gate, when time stands still and your eyes grow dim. Your life gone past will just begin. Your eyes will see the kings of kings and your lips will sing of wondrous things your heart will leap with joy again, you never felt that way before until he brought you through the narrow door.

No one can find it on their own, you need the eyes the eyes of God you need the lips so you can hear the gentle voice that says I’m hear.

Take my hand and when it’s time to take you home your eyes will see what you never knew. Your heart will sing like a gentle dove when you see my amazing love.
